Andrea Bowen was born in the United States. She began her career appearing on Broadway musicals, such as Les Miserables and The Sound of Music. In 2004, she began performing the part of Julie Mayer on the ABC comedy-drama series Desperate Housewives, a role that she performed on a frequent up to 2008. The parents of Julie Alexandra Mayer were Susan Delfino (mother) and Karl Mayer. Julie was Susan's dream child as a young woman. She cooked, did the laundry and offered dating advice.
